Equidian

Equidians are a species of cybernetic Pegasus/unicorn like beings standing 50 feet tall and possessing great strength and speed.  Equidians are silver in color and usually have a mithranium alloy exoskeleton, they also have a 6 meter long horn on their head that can pierce many types of armor.  Their wingspan is over 40 feet and they use a combination of their wings and a series of gravity lasers to fly in any atmosphere or even space.

Equidians are though to have been engineered by scientists working for the Golden Empire sometime around the year 100 billion, they came to serve as the main steed for the golden army and fought in many battles alongside their creators.  Before the great silence, Equidian would be known to travel great distances alone or in small groups to carry out secret missions either for their own kind or the Golden Empire.  They are especially well known for hunting down renegade Nergal, monstrous gargoyle like entities from the ancient universe that still hide in the dark reaches of space.  

After the great silence, most Equidian withdrew into the Golden Empire to help keep whatever purpose serves the will of the Golden Emperor.  Few know why, and fewer will survive to see the Emperor return...
